Valentine’s Day is fast approaching and local businesses have come up with all sorts of fun and creative ways for you to enjoy this special day with your bubble buddy, socially distanced or not 😉. Whether you prefer to enjoy a romantic dinner in the comfort of your own home, or want to send a loved one a thoughtful gift, we’ve compiled a list of some Valentine’s Day ideas for you.

Lure Restaurant & Bar | WinterLURE

Lure has really embraced the bubble concept and have installed some very cute domes on their patio outfitted with either comfy lounge seating or dining seating. So come rain or shine you can enjoy a cozy meal with your special someone while taking in the gorgeous views of the Inner Harbour. Aura | Take-home dinner for two

The talented chefs at Aura are preparing a special enjoy-at-home pasta dinner for two ($60) which includes salad, their incredible focaccia bread, pasta, and an assortment of 6 dessert bites. For an additional $20 you can add on a bottle of red or white wine. Sweeten it even more with some of their other delicious treats like their Valentine’s lychee & peach chocolate bar, or their house-made macarons!

Wandering Mollusk | Seafood buckets & freshly shucked oysters

How about a seafood feast for Valentine’s Day? The Wandering Mollusk is offering a smaller version of their incredible crab boil bucket perfect for dinner for two ($135). The bucket includes 1 whole crab, 1/2 pound whole spot prawns, 1 pound manila clams, 1 pound mussels, sausage, potatoes, corn, lemon, garlic butter, house-made hot sauce, a baguette, and even butcher paper so that you can enjoy this feast right on your kitchen table. Simply add beer, wine, or cider to the bucket; boil for 20 minutes and dinner is served!

If you prefer they also have platters of freshly shucked oysters available.

The Proper Table | NYC curated culinary journey

How about a trip for two to New York City? A trip to New York City from the comfort of your living room that is! The Proper Table has collaborated with Toque Catering, Twist of Fate Cocktails, and other local vendors to bring you a little culinary adventure this Valentine’s weekend. For $325 they will set you up with a table setting rental for two (incl. plates, napkins, candles, flatware), a 3-course New York inspired dinner for two from Toque catering, 500mL of Bourbon based cocktail mix, a bouquet of flowers, a box of chocolates, and even a themed playlist. Vancouver Island Picnic Company | Romantic picnic for two

For something extra romantic how about a luxury picnic for two? Vancouver Island Picnic Company is offering a Valentine’s Day picnic which includes charcuterie, chocolate truffles, preserves, honey, fresh baked bread, bottle of Temperance Cider, and a single rose. Also included (but of course must be returned) are blankets, games, charcuterie board, utensils and dishware. Cost is $200 or $225 for vegan or gluten free.

Bilston Creek Farm | Bilston bonfire

A chilly February day, a blanket, and a warm fire; what better excuse do you need to cuddle up to someone special? Bilston Creek Farm will be hosting their bonfires on Valentine’s weekend. For $80 you’ll get use of your own personal sheltered bonfire for an hour as well as a cheese platter for two and a s’mores kit featuring lavender marshmallows. They’re also offering lavender hot chocolate!

The Hallway | Take-home cocktail kits

The Hallway has recently introduced take-home cocktail kits ($38-$65) so that you can now enjoy their delicious cocktails in the comfort of your home! The Farmer’s Daughter | Charcuterie boards

For Valentine’s Day The Farmer’s Daughter will be offering two different delicious gift options. The first is a charcuterie board for two, with the option of adding a bottle of wine. The other is their Love Box ($120), which includes two heart-shaped cheeses, macarons from the Fat Macaron, crackers, cherry & chocolate spread, candied pecans, flowers, a bottle of wine, and even a Valentine’s card. L’Apéro | Raclette and charcuterie

Heat things up with a raclette for two ($45) from L’Apéro. Each raclette kit includes Haus cured meats, baby potatoes, crackers, cornichons, and of course lots of cheese just waiting to be melted. This Valentine’s day they’re also featuring cheese boards ($33-$53) which includes three different cheeses, crackers, nuts, and heart shaped macarons.

Want to try something a little different? Brazzi Bakery is offering an assorted box of delicious Brazilian truffles which includes coated grapes, strawberries, and filled raspberries. Brazilian truffles are made mainly from condensed milk and taste similar to fudge but with a much softer texture.
