It has been far too long since we posted a Fancy Frites “Best of….” blog so we’re really excited to get the ball rolling again with this Best Breakfast Sandwich in Victoria post. With so many sandwiches to choose from we had a hard time narrowing them down so we decided to divide them into categories: Carb shapes, carb types. You know?? The two things that hold these delicious breakfast items together.
Best Waffle Breakfast Sandwich

Oh yes they went there! Why choose whether you want sweet or savory? Waffles or eggs? Apparently you really can have it all with this gluttonous sandwich made up of two eggs, bacon, sausage patty, cheese and three syrupy eggo waffles ($10).
Best Biscuit Breakfast Sandwich
Breakfast Sandwich | Wheelies Motorcycles
Admittedly up until this point I was a little biased against biscuits, they’re often dry, heavy, and doughy, that was until Wheelies showed us the light! Their cheddar biscuit breakfast sandwich made up of beef brisket*, cheddar, egg and smoked paprika sour cream is a little flavor bomb sent from the biscuit heavens ($8). The biscuit is light and flakey and the tender brisket just melts in your mouth.
*We had brisket with our sandwich but we have noticed their menu now mentions chorizo sausage instead.

Best English Muffin Breakfast Sandwich
Breakfast Sandwich with Bacon | Little June
It was tough picking a winner for this category but ultimately it came down to the bacon. The breakfast sandwich with bacon from Little June is made up of a very crispy toasted English muffin, egg and delectable tender pieces of thick cut Slater’s bacon. Of course you have the option of customizing this sandwich with a few other toppings but the bacon really made this sandwich a winner in our books ($7.25).

Best Breakfast Sandwich On a Bun
Classic with Bacon | Melt Truck
This one is another really tough category as there are so many delicious breakfast sandwiches out there and admittedly we haven’t tried allll of them, but out of the ones we did try the prize goes to one of our dear faves the Melt Truck. Their Classic (with bacon) breakfast sandwich is a tough one to beat, and rightfully so, they combined some of the best ingredients in town to create a sandwich that’s oh so rich and satisfying. A chewy Bond Bonds bun sandwiches a well-seasoned fried egg, sriracha mayo and crispy Red Barn bacon (see Best Bacon in Victoria post) ($7).

Best Vegan Breakfast Sandwich
Breakfast Sandwich | Fern Café and Bakery
Breakfast doesn’t have to be all about the eggs and bacon, plants can be breakfast too! We love everything at Fern Café and the vegan breakfast sandwich is no exception. Creamy tofu ‘egg’, ‘cheese’ and chorizo sausage make up this delicious and satisfying breakfast sammy ($9).
Best Bagel Breakfast Sandwich
The Ultimate Bagel | Union Pacific Coffee
There really is nothing like a fresh bagel first thing in the morning, especially a bagel from local bagel company Mount Royal Bagels. This bagel breakfast sandwich ticks all the boxes and will satisfy the hungriest of tummies as it’s stacked high with bacon, sausage, egg, lettuce and tomato, all on a fresh sesame Mount Royal Bagel ($10).
